Season reset
Competitive rank is partially reset at the start of each full season. Players drop a set number of divisions rather than returning to Bronze, so a Diamond player restarts in Platinum or Gold depending on the size of the reset. Half-seasons (for example 9.5) apply a smaller reset than full seasons.
